It wasn’t a game for the hockey purist but it was very entertaining! The Oilers started like they wasn’t into the game and the Flames just pounded them! However, the Oilers would battle back and tie the game.
“We scored six goals and found a way to lose,” said head coach Jay Woodcroft. “I didn’t like the way we skated, we weren’t on our toes or assertive in any way to start… Mentally, for sure, we missed some assignments and got pushed off a few pucks. In the end they made us pay.”
The game was very fast-paced. It was like a NHL game decades ago. Eventually, the Oilers ran out of gas and the Flames prevailed 6 to 9. I can’t wait to see the pace in the 2nd game. If you watch this game, what are your thoughts?
