According to early Box Office data, the upcoming release of “John Wick: Chapter 4” is expected to make a domestic box office opening of between $65 million and $70 million, a franchise best, when it hits theaters. The highly anticipated film sees Keanu Reeves reprising his role as the skilled assassin, Baba Yaga. The movie has already received critical acclaim with a 95% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Directed by Chad Stahelski, the action-packed film also features Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgard, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Rina Sawayama, Ian McShane, and the late Lance Reddick. The film will be playing in IMAX and other premium formats throughout the weekend, in addition to thousands of regular screens. The lucrative Lionsgate franchise has grossed nearly $590 million at the worldwide box office and the latest installment is expected to take this number past the $700 million mark.
